A Birthday Cake for Baby Jesus

The other day, I started asking Mama a lot of questions about why Santa is coming. We talked about it a while, and she told me that the reason we have Christmas is because it's Baby Jesus's birthday. I said I wanted to get him a present, and after much thought, I said that a purple candle would be something that he would like. I also asked if we could have a birthday party for Baby Jesus, and Mama thought that sounded like a lot of fun.

So, the day before his birthday, we woke up and started baking a cake first thing in the morning. Mama let me stir and help pour the cake in the pan. Then once it was done, I got to do the icing mostly by myself. That night, we sang Happy Birthday and I was also in charge of the candles - I think Jesus loved that I helped so much with his special cake! Happy Birthday Jesus - we love you!!!

Helping Mama make the cake in our PJs. And yes, ladies, I am wearing camouflage underwear:

Mmmm, icing is the best part!

We used every candle in the box, and it still wasn't enough! And check out the perfection that is the icing job.

Gingerbread Choo-Choo Train

We've never made a Gingerbread House at Christmas, so this year we thought we'd give it a try! Mama found a Gingerbread Train (even better!) and we happily set to putting it together. It was a little trickier than we thought, but it was tons of fun to do, and Mama let me put the candies on by myself and she spread the icing. I think it turned out perfect!

Caroling at Mama's Office

This morning, me and all my friends at school loaded up onto a special kid bus and headed down the road to Mama's office. Once we got there, we got up on a stage in the lobby of the Chick-fil-A office and sang a bunch of Christmas carols for Mama and the people she works with. I have been singing all of the songs for weeks to Mama and Daddy and Cooper, but I was too busy looking up at all of the people leaning over the railings at us to really concentrate on singing. It was fun though! I finally joined in on the last song, Jingle Bells!

Afterwards, Mama took me up to the lab to visit with all of my old friends. Then we went downstairs and I drove some of Mr. Truett's cars, then it was back to school for me for the rest of the day.

Enjoying a cookie in the lab. Caroling is hard work!

Catch me if you can, Mama! To be honest, I have an unfair advantage - Mama had on heels!

Hanging Around the House

Smiley Cooper - we have been waiting months to see this happy side of my brother come out!

I love playing on the floor with Cooper in his "tent":

And here we are blasting off in our rocket ship. I love playing with my baby brother more than just about anything!

Ready for Christmas!

Well, I loved the Christmas tree last year, but this year I really got into decorating it! We ended up doing a few ornaments every night so I could stretch it out - I loved it that much! I was excited to unwrap each ornament and hear about it and where it came from. So exciting!

We also went to see Santa. This is the first year that I wasn't intimidated by him at all. I walked right up to him, sat in his lap and asked him if I could please have some Spiderman books for Christmas, if he has some left. And Cooper liked him too, but mainly because of his super cool beard and because he seems to like everyone that I do :)

This was my favorite place on the tree to decorate - can you tell? Every branch has about 9 ornaments on it. I think I did a really great job!

Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree!

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we went on our annual Christmas tree hunt. For the past couple of years, we've been going to a place down in McDonough to cut down the perfect tree. It is huge and there are animals to visit with and this year we even went on a tractor ride! What fun. Now, if Christmas would just get here already!

I'm not sure if you've noticed this about me, but I am quite the silly goose. And I must do everything that Daddy does and wear what Daddy does, even if these gloves are 72 times too big!

Cooper isn't sure what to make of all of this:

One of the best things about coming to the Christmas tree farm is playing Hide and Seek between the trees. Catch me if you can!

After careful searching, we found The Tree! I made the final decision, because I have the best taste:

Ready to cut!

Just give me the tree, and I'll carry it to the car, okay?

I am just following the tree with legs:

There were even 2-week-old bunnies there! They were so cute that I wanted one. That didn't happen, but I did get to feed the Mama bunnies some yummy grass:

On the hayride:

I am Daddy's perpetual helper, and lately have decided that my ladder must be used in every situation. So here we are trying to get this huge tree in our house!

Thanksgiving

We had a really fun, wonderful Thanksgiving with our family, as usual! We ate until our bellies couldn't hold anymore and Cooper had his first "meal" of rice cereal with everyone. Which he hated! Oh well.

But I always love just spending time with our sweet family in our cozy little house and enjoying yummy food too! It was just a great day all around!

All I want is to get my hands on Uncle Zach's beard!

And even during my 6-month "fussy" spell, I have always had a soft spot for my Aunt Sara:

Let's chow!

I am pretty sure Bebe thinks I'm super-fantastic:

Silly Me

Here are just a few of my silly moments from this month...

Fireman Harrison, here to save the day with my muscles! I am ripped.

This is my dirty clothes basket. Which I turned into a rocket ship.

Oh, this is so special. Riding in the car with my helmet on, holding a wrench. Mama laughed the whole way to the store. What's her deal?

I can't remember if I am a rock star or a rhino here. I am either too cool, or too fierce:
