Happy Halloween!

For Halloween this year, I decided to go as one of my favorite characters, Handy Manny, and carried a Darth Vader Trick-or-Treat pail. Mama managed to get one or two pictures of me in my costume before I pointed out that "Darth Vader is EMPTY". So we practiced Trick-or-Treating with our candy, and of course I just had to have a 3 Musketeers. This is about the time that chocolate got drooled all over my shirt, but I just thought it made me look more authentic - like I had been hard at work all day and got some dirt on my clothes!

Grandmama was nice enough to come over and hand out candy so that both Mama and Daddy could take me out together - and it was a good thing, since we were out for an hour and a half! Every neighbor got a big "Trick-or-Treat", "Thank you!" and a "Happy Halloween!!". We all had a fantastic time - I love spooky stuff and of course I love candy!

Dang, I look GOOD!

Halloween at our new house! And no, I don't want to smile - I just want to eat another 3 Musketeers, people.

There's my happy self!

Halloween kisses from Grandmama:

All of our neighbors were so fun and nice! I mean, pumpkin glasses on a dog? These are my kind of people!

Walking a pumpkin-lit path to another neighbor's house:

Even the kitty cats were friendly!

Here is the neighborhood "Haunted House", but I was just too fascinated by all of the spooky stuff to be scared! I loved it all!

This might be the biggest kitty I've ever seen! But I still prefer Stirling. She is much softer.

Thomas the Train and a very pretty witch anxiously filled my pail with about 7 handfuls of candy!

Let's end the night by trying some of these Pixie Sticks. Let's also see how many crazy faces I can make while eating them. Jury's still out on whether I actually enjoyed them or not:

Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Carving Time

A few days before Halloween, we decided it was high time to get our big pumpkin carved. As much as I love pumpkins, I was not so sure about sticking my little arms inside - it was weird and sticky and squishy in there! Eventually I decided Daddy needed some help scooping out the gooey guts - especially after I watched Molly gobble up the insides as soon as we set them down (gross) - but that meant they couldn't be THAT bad, right?

Yes Daddy, I see how weird and grody the insides are. What was wrong with leaving it whole and un-cut anyways?

Whoa, this is one of the grossest things I've ever seen in my whole life!

I was right, Mama. It feels as gross as I knew it would.

Well, if you let me use an ice cream scoop I'll help, with Molly's close supervision:

Isn't Molly beautiful?

Not sure what is going through our Molly's head right here - she has a lot of funny expressions!

Holy cow, this is so cool! The pumpkin now has eyes!

This has been so fun - everything about Halloween is so weird and cool!

Working Hard with Daddy

We got some cool new furniture for our back deck, and of course Daddy asked me to help him put it together because he needed an expert on the job to make sure everything was done right. I was happy to help, of course - it's always great to teach Daddy a thing or two!

First things first - we need to get the porch clean and furniture-ready:

Time to get to work:

Daddy, why don't you take a break while I put the finishing touches on this?

Daddy and I really worked hard to get it all put together:

Let the real muscles of the family get that for you!

Now to enjoy the finished product!

Aquarium Visit with Vicky!

Vicky (who Mama met while she lived in Australia) came all the way from London to surprise Mama on her 30th birthday - Daddy had arranged a big special surprise birthday party for her with friends from all over! It was really super.

Anyways, one of the things Vicky wanted to see while she was here was the Aquarium, and of course I was more than happy to show her around since it is one of my favorite spots. Mama had been really sick and so the doctor insisted that she be in a wheelchair for the week while she recovered - which was a lot of fun for me, as you can imagine! I love anything with wheels.

Riding into the Aquarium in style:

Boy I love to see my friend every time we go to the Aquarium!

Enough pictures, can we just go see some more fish already?

Yes, it is what you think it is. A time-out in the middle of lunch, right in the booth. Really, a meal just isn't a meal without at least one tantrum:

Can I get any closer to the fish? I want to pet them:

Whoa! So much to see:

Daddy and me studying the fish up close:

Boy, that was a great day! C'mon Vicky, let's head back home. (And do you see the cute little otter that Vicky got me from the Aquarium? He was an instant favorite!):

Boo at the Zoo!

Bebe and Papa came over on Saturday to celebrate Mama's 30th birthday with all of us. We had an incredible day - birthdays are always fun for the whole family! We walked to downtown Decatur and had a huge breakfast on the patio at Pastries A Go-Go. Then I helped Mama open her never-ending bag of presents from Bebe and Papa. Mama and Bebe went shopping in Decatur while I napped.

When I woke up, Mama said we were going to spend the rest of the night at the zoo! They were having a special Halloween party called Boo at the Zoo and boy was it fun! I woke up too late to get decked out in my Handy Manny costume, but instead just threw on my fireman's hat for a last-minute costume. I got to Trick or Treat, take my first ride on a spooky train, hug lots of stuffed characters, play with toys, see some animals and ride on Daddy's shoulders. We had so much fun I never wanted to leave! Luckily we had this one last fun day together before Mama started feeling really rotten. Little did we know she would be couch-ridden for the next two weeks when she woke up Sunday. At least we had this incredibly fun and exciting day!!

Man it is just no fun walking around with Papa!

I looked a little perplexed/constipated about BooTown:

My first Trick-or-Treating experience! I loved saying "Trick-or-Treat" and then "Thank You!" after I got each delicious candy treasure:

"Mama, hurry up with the unwrapping! I am dying to eat my first AirHead!!!"

Mmmm, it's as good as I dreamed it would be:

One of my favorite activities of the night was watching the carousel with Papa:

"Oooh, Bebe - did you say we are going to ride on a CHOO-CHOO TRAIN?!!?!?"

I was much happier about riding on the train in Bebe's lap than this picture shows. Promise. And I loved it even more once we got going - I loved the spooky lights and creatures and just finally going on a train ride!

Making new friends while playing with a train:

I found Handy Manny and Pat, Mama!

Here are a few of the fun animals I got to hug. I even liked sharing my hat with them:

There were even bubbles for me to run through!

Have a very

Happy Halloween!
