Mother's Day

I think we've gotten to the point where Mother's Day is Mama's favorite holiday because of how much we spoil her! Today we let her sleep in late, and then brought her breakfast in bed, complete with flowers, cards, hugs and kisses. After breakfast, we gave her a big picture frame with lots of happy pictures of us boys in it, and we got her some new purple Adirondack chairs to sit on the back deck in. As if that wasn't more than enough, I also made her a heart vase at Lowe's!

After breakfast, we headed to Stone Mountain to Ride the Ducks, since we've never done that before. It was a lot of fun, and I loved when we finally got in the water. We even got duck quackers to quack the whole time we were out. Once we got back, we sat out in the shade and had a delicious picnic. What a wonderful, sweet day. We love our Mama!

Practicing my quacking:

Quacking to Daddy:

Listening to our entertaining Captain tell us all about our bus/boat:

We're finally on the water!

Our super-fun captain even let me drive for a while!

"Don't worry y'all - I got this!"

This requires the utmost concentration:

Blowing bubbles on the rocks. The Bubbles that are colored, but supposedly don't stain:

Enjoying some yummy sandwiches:

Showing Mama how to properly make the biggest mess possible:

I made such an incredible mess on my shirt that I got to show off my belly for all to admire:

Out to dinner at the delicious Wahoo!

Karate!

Today Mama came to watch me at my Karate class with my friends and I showed her all the things that Master Holmes has been teaching us this year. We stretched, practiced our push-ups, kicked, punched and ran around pretending to be really fierce. I love it!

Demonstrating perfect push-up form:

Let's see if we can touch the ceiling:

Stretching out:

Perfect kung-fu form:

Look at that kick!

And after a bow, we're done!

My Idea of a Perfect Afternoon

Touch a Truck

This morning we walked down the street to Touch a Truck - which I was really excited when we were talking about it. That changed a bit when we actually got there. Maybe it was because it was so dang loud, or that there were a ton of people packed into a tiny space, or that it was hot. Probably a combination of all three. Either way, we did get to see some cool stuff before we called it quits and made our way back home. Maybe next year...

This awesome truck was like a huge vacuum cleaner for giant pieces of metal and rocks. The guy in the vest did several demonstrations and we were entranced!

Listening intently to Mr. Fireman:

Wonder what happens when I turn this dial?

Hanging out in the back of an ambulance:

Alright, let's head out. Cooper's face says it all.

Storytelling

This is a new favorite pastime of mine - storytelling. I get myself so tickled during the stories that I am often impossible to understand, but my friends don't seem to mind. Every day they ask for more stories about Corporal Cooper & Corporal Harrison, and I happily dive right in. Here's a sneak peek - if you're real lucky, maybe you can hear a full-length one sometime!

Easter at Papa & Bebe's

The Easter bunny came here too, you say???

Look at all this stuff the Easter bunny brought. And yes, the perfect place for the frog is on my curly head.

I loved everything the bunny brought me - especially this "yo-yo":

And then I got to give Papa & Bebe their Easter basket:

And of course, we have to bring out our favorite Papa & Bebe House Toys - the swords:

On Guard!!

A little pre-lunch snack with Aunt Sara:

Showing Mama how to make a good block tower:

Let the hunt begin!

Good find, Uncle Zach! Now bring it over here to my basket:

Getting a lift from Aunt Kira:

I found one in the fence too, Aunt Sara!

On a mission:

Papa, look!

Hustling to get to the egg I spotted before big brother does!

Um, I saw that first. Give it.

Looking over our loot with Uncle Zach:

Time to dye some eggs:

Egg dying requires extreme focus:

Almost done. And covered in egg dye. Happy Easter!
