We Love a Mess!

This is what happens when I have a chocolate bar on the ride home on a hot day:

And I love to be Daddy's breakfast helper, and most of the time something like this happens:

Learning to Swim (or at least to not freak out in the water)

Swim lessons didn't start out great for me...I've never been crazy about bodies of water bigger than a bathtub, but Mama & Daddy thought it was high time I try to get comfortable in the water and maybe, just maybe, learn to swim.

Clinging to Coach Mike in terror:

And yes, I spent the entire first 30-minute lesson like this - screaming for Daddy:

By lesson 4, I was still not crazy about the water, but no longer terrified. Big progress!!

Practicing my kicks - my favorite thing to do in the water because it does not involve putting my face in:

And watch my big brother swim to Coach Mike! Someday that will be me!!

Backyard Fishing

We got our very first fishing rods today - a Spiderman one and a Transformer one - and to practice, we took them in the backyard to learn how to cast! After a few lessons from Daddy, we both got it down perfect and now we can't wait to go fishing for real!

Whoops - need a few more practice tries I guess!

Look Mama - I caught a WHALE!

Getting some good tips from Daddy:

The trick is not to "catch" each other:

What made it even more fun was that Bailey kept playing with our lines!

The cutest fisherman ever:

Well...tied with me anyways!

Action!

Father's Day

We started Father's Day with some Dunkin Donuts for breakfast, and then we packed a picnic and headed up to the Chattahoochee Nature Center for the afternoon. We had a great time exploring and hiking - we were pooped by the end of the day, but it was worth it!

Checking out the fish in the giant fish tank:

Playing with the gadgets inside the center:

Look at the turtles Mama!

Look at that snake!

Mama, take the picture so I can get to climbing this tree, okay?

Headed out to explore:

Whew, we've worked up an appetite - time for a picnic!

Cooper, check out this crazy thing hanging from the tree!

Yep, I'm in "going to look as goofy as possible in every picture" mode:

I am awfully cute though...

Look! We found some blackberries!

...but I got one that wasn't quite ripe enough and was a little sour:

Running and being a goober at the same time:

Off I go!

Playing in a fort we found - and of course we had to be pirates and make guns out of sticks:

Hiding in what we thought was a secret little fort:

Ah! We've been discovered! And we thought we were safe!

Father's Day Celebration

Today we got to celebrate Father's Day at school! We watched Daddy race in a sack race and complete a baby-changing obstacle course. It was hot, but we had a great time and had some yummy treats too!

This is obviously what you're supposed to do with these things, right?

Enjoying my snack while cheering Daddy on:

We made our dads special cupcakes in class today. Notice the little hand that is grabbing for it as I'm trying to give it to Daddy:

Walking Harrison the Puppy

Yes, that's me on a leash. And no, this wasn't Mama's idea - it was mine:

Building a Helicopter at Lowe's

I decided the best getup to wear would be my pirate gear - wait until you see my socks!

I can focus better on what I'm doing on the floor:

I pretty much did this all by myself today - Mama was just an observer!

And this is what happens when Mama asks us to pose for a picture together with our completed project:

Can't you see how great mine turned out? Holding still for pictures is not my style:

But how can you get frustrated with this face? It's pretty much impossible:

This is as good as it's gonna get today:
