Grandmama

It is with heavy little hearts that we let everyone know that our beautiful Grandmama went to live with God & Jesus today, and we already miss her so much it hurts.

I have been asking a lot of questions about Heaven, trying to get a better idea of what she’s up to now that she’s not here with us, like:
1. Can you listen to any kind of music you want in heaven – like Johnny Cash without turning down the volume during the “bad” parts?
2. When God & Jesus fix Grandmama up so she’s not sick anymore, will they send her back to us?
3. What do I do if I want to talk to her?

Mama & Daddy have done their best to answer my questions, but I can’t get used to the idea of Grandmama not being here with us anymore. I miss her laugh, the way she called me “Punkin” and Cooper “Lil Bit”, how she loved us no matter what our mood, her love of books, her endless patience, how she loved to do the “dirty work” – like change diapers and give us medicine, how she loved to laugh with us no matter how bad she was feeling, how her love for us made us feel special, how she loved Star Wars almost as much as we do.

I am so glad that I got to know her and have so much fun with her. Cooper loved her so much and loved to snuggle up to her every chance he got.

She was a wonderful Grandmama, and just a good-hearted person that knew how to love and accept all kinds of people. She showed us little boys by her own example a life of grace, led with a strong heart.

She was so worried that I would forget her, but I could never forget her. We will always hold the memories we had together in our hearts, and look back at this blog often to re-live our special times together.

We say a special prayer to you every night, Grandmama, and we miss you so much.

We love you with all our hearts! -Punkin & Lil Bit

Family Night at Grandmama's

Lucky for us, everyone was free to meet up at Grandmama's house for a family dinner. We made some pizza, ran around the house like the monkeys that we are, snuggled with our family, and laughed until our tummies hurt. We had a fun night with our wonderful family and love them all so much!

Reading a book with Grandmama:

Being a goose with Mama. I went from Grandmama's lap to Mama's lap over and over again - how do you choose?

My aunties playing an intense game of Scrabble:

Grandmama really loves my toes:

And whenever she got thirsty, so did I:

Tanglewood Farm

We have been hearing about the miniature animals at Tanglewood Farm for weeks, and finally the day came when we got to visit them. We picked a hot day to go, but we got most of our visits in with the animals before it got too unbearable. It was so fun to be able to feed and pet these tiny little animals, and hug on some of the bigger ones. We'll be back for sure!

I know it's tempting to make a crack about being future outlaws, but c'mon, look at these cute little faces! Not a chance.

Look at this cute little sheep - it looks like she wants a kiss:

And a huge sheep:

Then we discovered these adorable little goats:

Wait, come back here!

This is what happens when you hang out with the baby goats, and it is awesome:

We wanted to take one home. Seriously.

Moo!

We couldn't get over how calm these cows were - guess they knew we had food for them, and that they wouldn't even have to get up to eat!

Um, could you put down the camera and help me out here?

A huge, lazy bunny:

And a little baby pony:

We're having a moment:

Now this is something I've never seen, and it's a shame he wasn't interested in being petted:

Having a nice cool drink in the shade:

Enjoying an apple on the way home. I'm such a big boy that I even eat the peel!

Greene's

It was a perfect day for walking to downtown Decatur, so we walked ourselves right up to Greene's candy store. Not only do they have candy and ice cream, but they have toys too! We already can't wait to go back - and maybe next time, we'll get to pick out a toy...

Mama, after we finish our ice cream, we must go check out the airplanes, k?

A smooch for you!

I'm really starting to get into the ice cream at this point. Shirt's askew, ice cream drips down my shirt, chocolate covering my face, hands appropriately sticky. And I am happy.

I may eat the spoon too.

Learning to spin tops with Daddy:

Got it down to an art, while Cooper is on to something else.

Time for more ice cream!

As happy as happy can be:

Afternoon With Grandmama

This afternoon Grandmama came over to play and have dinner with us. She wanted to get outside and enjoy the beautiful day, so we played ball in the front yard, and then went to the back to do some art on our fence. I also gave Grandmama her first official Archery lesson. In my expert opinion, she did great for her first time, but she will need some more guidance from a seasoned expert like myself before she can really hit her targets. She's always such a great sport though - one of the many things we love about her! We had a great night together - we love our Grandmama so much!

Love:

Playing ball on our newly seeded lawn and probably killing all the baby grass that is sprouting, but playing is much more important!

Giving Grandmama free, personal instruction on how to do this. Let's see how she does.

My face says it all. Oh, Grandmama.

Let's try it again, and really focus this time, okay?

Now for some art!
