My First Concert!

For me and Mama's Little Shop of Stories date night, we bundled up and headed out to walk/run to my fav bookstore. Once I got my running out of my system, I decided I wanted to be a gentleman and carry (okay, DRAG) Mama's very heavy bag up the sidewalk. I guess this was pretty funny looking, since the diaper bag is about as big as me, and so lots of friendly people stopped to talk to me about it, making sure Mama wasn't forcing her 2 1/2-year-old into slave labor and Mama assuring them that I had, in fact, asked to "carry" it.

After a while, I noticed Mama wincing a little as we saw some of the fabric on the bottom of the bag start to wear away, and I was tired anyways, so I gave it back to her and then asked if I could ride on her shoulders the rest of the way (of course, I decided this right as we got to the hill).

Once we got there, I was in for a big surprise - a new kid's band, The Baby Grands, was there to give us a free concert! They were really really good and I listened & danced along to the guitar and clapped after every song. Afterwards, we got our usual milk and cookies and then it was back home and off to bed! What an exciting night!

I am clapping with such enthusiasm that it's all just a blur!

Time for milk and cookies!

Fun with Leaves at Bebe & Papa's

Papa sometimes gets bad owies on his back, and he got an especially bad one recently, so we decided that he might need some Harrison-time to cheer him up. We stopped at Panera on our way up and got lots of yummy food for a big brunch and took it to Papa & Bebe's.

Happily for all of us, Papa was on the mend and was able to get around (ever-so-gently), so we spent a lot of time outside once we had our brunch. I love to sweep, so Papa and Bebe put me in charge of sweeping the back porch. I had to take a few breaks to study the leaves though - they were so pretty. I had many conversations with Bebe about all the cool colors and we studied the leaves together.

I had a wonderful afternoon with my family and most of all, I am sure glad you're feeling better, Papa! I love you!

You may not know this, but sweeping requires a lot of concentration to get it JUST right, as demonstrated by my stuck-out-tongue:

Hey Papa, why don't you relax and let me take care of this, okay? I got this under control:

Bebe, look at this cool rainbow leaf I found!

I mean, are you seeing this? Bebe, lean in and look closer:

On a mini-nature walk in the back yard. I love the way the leaves sound crinkling under my feet:

Fall Festival

There was a really fun Fall Festival at a grandparents home near our house, so we all decided to go and visit with the sweet people that lived there and also ride some ponies! Extra bonus for me, they just happened to be the exact same pony friends that I rode when we all went to Cagle's Dairy Farm! There was also food, bowling, balloon popping, face painting and putt-putt. But the ponies were, by far, my favorite of course - and I have been begging Mama to take me to "ride a horsey 'gin" ever since! We already have 3 animals in our house, would it really be THAT big of a deal to throw a pony into the mix too? If you see Mama, please mention this to her.

Practicing for my future role as the Lone Ranger II:

Alright, let's see how my bowling skills are - I must impress the audience!

Man, I can barely take the suspense!

Forget this rolling-the-ball business - I'm going to do what I do best - THROW!
